A MESSAGE FROM THE TOODYAY TRIATHLON CLUB
Toodyay Triathlon Club is excited to welcome all competitors and spectators to the inaugural Toodyay Triathlon!
Since forming the club in March 2025, club volunteers have worked enthusiastically to bring you Toodyay's first triathlon.
Swim laps in the crystal clear waters of the Toodyay pool, ride the bitumen roads with picturesque views, and run a mixture of trail and paved paths.
Pick your race distance and decide if you'll go it solo or form a team of 2 or 3 people to complete the event.
There is a race distance to suit everyone, especially for children, young people and adults giving triathlon a go for the first time.

Triathlon isn’t limited to elite athletes or marathon runners, it’s for everyone who wants to challenge themselves and have fun doing it.
Whether you’re looking to get active, meet new people, or challenge yourself, there’s aplace for you in triathlon.

Time: Arrive from 6:30am for a 7:30am race start

COURSE INFORMATION
Swim
The Fun Course is 4 x 25m laps, total 100m.
The Short Course is 8 x 25m laps, total 200m.
The Sprint Course is 16 x 25m laps, total 400m.
The swim is in a 25m pool. Competitors will start in the pool and exit the pool on completion of their laps, heading out the side gates and left onto the pavement towards transition.
Bike
The Fun Course is 1 x 2.5km lap, total 2.5km.
The Short Course is 3 x 2.5km laps, total 7.5km.
The Sprint Course is 6 x 2.5km laps, total 15km.
The bike course sets out along Jarratt Pass, turns left into Murray Walkway (previously known as Drummond Street East), until performing a U-turn before the intersection of Weedon Entrance. Competitors will then head back up Murray Walkway (DrummondStreet East) until performing a second U-turn and heading back towards Jarratt Pass, turning left into Jarratt Pass, left into Burt Parkway and right turn into the car park past transition to commence the next lap. On completion of required laps, competitors will rack their bikes and exit transition turning left to commence the run.
Bike rules will follow Triathlon Australia race rules.

Helmets must be fitted correctly and clipped on before removing your bike off the rack and on conclusion of the ride leg bikes must be placed back on the rack before unclipping and removing your helmet.

Please cross over the mount line before mounting your bike. Likewise, to dismount before crossing over the dismount line to conclude the bike leg.

Stay left unless overtaking.

While road closures are in place, local residents may still use the road so please be mindful that cars can still appear on the course.

Run
The Fun Course is 500m out and back, total 1km.
The Short Course is 1km out and back, total 2km.
The Sprint Course is 2 x 2km laps, total 4km.
All competitors will exit transition turning left to commence the run along a concrete path adjacent to the Aquatic Centre, before turning left through the car park and then right into Burt Parkway. Follow Burt Parkway and turn left at the brick paved driveway will lead competitors along a gravel section behind the school which joins a bush trail running adjacent to the school oval.
Fun Course competitors will run out and back, turning around at the 500m mark.
Short Course competitors will exit transition turning left to commence the run along a concrete path adjacent to the Aquatic Centre, before turning left through the car park and then right into Burt Parkway. Follow Burt Parkway and turn left at the brick paved driveway will lead competitors along a gravel section behind the school which joins a bush trail running adjacent to the school oval. Competitors will follow the bush trail onto a paved path until a turnaround point (1km mark). After the turnaround point, competitors will retrace their steps to the car park to run through the Finish chute.
Sprint Course competitors will exit transition turning left to commence the run along a concrete path adjacent to the Aquatic Centre, before turning left through the car park and then right into Burt Parkway. Follow Burt Parkway and turn left at the brick paved driveway will lead competitors along a gravel section behind the school which joins a bush trail running adjacent to the school oval. This track will join a paved section to a turnaround point (2km) before Drummond St. After the turnaround point, competitors will retrace their steps to the car park to commence their second lap before returning to the car park to run through the Finish chute.

REGISTRATION & RACE PACK COLLECTION
Competitor check-in, race pack collection and body marking will be from 6.45am to 7.30am.
Check-in and race pack collection will be located at the tables adjacent to the grassed area inside the Toodyay Aquatic Centre.
Race pack will include a race bib (with pins) and a timing chip. Please note, race bibs are compulsory for the bike and run; and the timing chip is to be worn on your left ankle.
Please bring your own swim cap. Swim caps are compulsory to help with lap counts. You may bring your own race belt to hold your race bib or pins will be provided.
VOLUNTEER SIGN IN & BRIEFING
Volunteer sign in will be from 6am. A volunteer briefing will be held at 7am near the entrance to the Finish and Transition area.
TRANSITION AREA
Access to the transition area to check-in your bike will be prior to race start from 6.45am to 7.30am. Helmets should be placed on your head and buckled up for safety inspection before entering transition. Be sure to get to the event early to register and rack your bike in time.
BAG DROP AREA
A bag drop area will be located next to Registrations. Please ensure your bag is identifiable.
HYDRATION STATIONS
There will be a hydration station on the run at the 500m mark. There will be no aid stations on the bike course.
RACE BRIEFING
The compulsory race briefing will be held at 7.15am on the pool deck inside the Toodyay Aquatic Centre.
The Toodyay Triathlon is a Triathlon Australia sanctioned race, as such Triathlon Australia race rules apply. For more information, please visit https://www.triathlon.org.au/rules
EVENT ROAD CLOSURES & PARKING
Road closures for the Toodyay Triathlon are estimated to be from 7am to 9.15am on Sunday 8 March, incorporating Drummond Street (gravel road to the Toodyay Recreation Centre), Burk Parkway, Jarratt Pass, Murray Walkway and Drummond Street East.
Parking areas along Burt Parkway, at the Toodyay Recreation Centre and Toodyay District High School will be accessible before the road closure (at 7am) and after the roads are reopened (~9.15am). No vehicle movements can occur whilst the roads are closed.
FINISH
Once competitors have completed their final run lap, they run through the Finishing chute and make their way to the Recovery Area on the grass within the Toodyay Aquatic Centre.
RECOVERY AREA
The Recovery area, situated on the grassed area inside the Toodyay Aquatic Centre, will have hydration options and fruit. Please use this area to recover. If you are feeling unwell, please get the attention of one of the volunteers who will escort you to the First Aid Station.
RACE DROPOUTS (DNF)
If for whatever reason you are unable to complete the race, please go to the finish line volunteers, let them know and hand in your timing chip. This is important for the event staff to account for competitors.
FIRST AID
A First Aid post will be set up as marked on the event area map.
PRESENTATIONS
Will be conducted on conclusion of the event and once results have been confirmed. Presentations will happen inside the Toodyay Aquatic Centre near the grassed area.
RESULTS
Will be available on the race timing company’s website. This will be announced closer to the event date.
